The Power Network
Managing and developing the public power transmission and
distribution networks is one of the fundamental missions associated
with "electricity public service", designed to guarantee
a quality electricity supply right across the country.
Network development decisions are complex, as they involve
a range of factors over which RTE has no control: growth in
electricity demand, the creation of new generating facilities,
the ways power plants are used, etc. In addition, the creation
of new power lines very often raises difficult issues in terms
of environmental integration.
The development of the public transmission network is therefore
based on a long-term planning approach.
