Seasonal analysis for Europe

Major six-monthly trends in the European electricity system

In 2009, transmission system operators (TSO) for electricity including RTE set up ENTSO-E (European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity), which groups together 41 TSOs from 34 European countries. Its purpose is to guarantee supply-demand balance by reconciling security of supply and quality of electricity. The ENTSO-E scope of investigation mainly covers electricity system operation, market organisation, grid extension and research and development.

Every six months, ENTSO-E publishes a report presenting the data for every TSO in Europe. This report details the events in summer and winter concerning security of European electricity supply: supply and demand balance, trading between the countries and all the key figures.
