Émilie Piette, 48, joined the Office of the French President in 2023, as Deputy Secretary General in charge of the Economic Affairs Unit (industry, digital policy, economic attractiveness) and of the ecological strategy coordination Green Unit (climate, environment, energy, transport, housing and agriculture).

As an Ingénieure Générale des Mines, Émilie Piette is a high-ranking official with twenty-five years’ experience in senior executive and cabinet roles in several ministries (Foreign Affairs, Economy, Housing, Ecological Transition, the Prime Minister’s Office, the President’s Office) as well as the private sector. She has served in particular as Interministerial Delegate for Senior Civil Service Management, Secretary General of the Ministries for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, and Production Director at Bouygues Bâtiment Île-de-France. She is a graduate of the École Polytechnique and the Télécom Paris engineering schools, and a Knight of the National Order of Merit. Émilie Piette succeeds Xavier Piechaczyk, who was appointed as Chairman of the Executive Board of RTE in 2020, and is set to take up the role of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of RATP Group in February 2026.
